Polka Dot Bride Feature :: BEC & TIM’S CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC WEDDING

Bec and Tim stole my heart today, as they planned a day that was filled with utterly beautiful style. With a chic black and white colour palette, a refined choice of decor and all your favourite modern, on point touches (hello neon sign!), they hired Jason Corroto to capture a day that was a contemporary take on classic, but more importantly, was very much their own personal style.

“The look I was trying to achieve was modern/contemporary while maintaining classic and timeless style,”  tells Bec, the couple choosing beautiful textured blooms that tied their classic church venue and industrial reception setting together in the most beautiful of ways. Cannot wait to share how their day unfolded!

Of their photographer, the bride raves “Jason was absolutely amazing. Jason’s approach to photography was exactly what we needed – natural, unobtrusive and super chilled. Tim is very camera shy, but Jason made us feel so comfortable and every photo seemed very effortless, we would sometimes forget he was even there capturing pictures! Which was great, as we look back on our photos and they are real moments and pure happiness. We are beyond happy with the way our photos have turned out.”

Polka Dot Bride Feature :: A Modern Cocktail Wedding

For Kate and Caleb, it was important that their wedding reflect their own relaxed sense of self. They chose a picturesque farm by the sea, they hired food trucks to dish up an informal feast and they danced for six-hours straight! With Jason Corroto behind the camera, this was the most joyous next step for the pair who met on Tinder.

Caleb popped the question just before a holiday to Bali and we’re going to start off today’s tale with the story of how he swept Kate off her feet. “The night before we flew to Bali, Caleb suggested we get a hotel room in the city to avoid the early morning drive from the Northern Beaches to the airport. I came straight from work and met Caleb in the city. He said he needed to use the bathroom and remembered that he had the key for an old skyscraper he used to do electrical work on.

Once inside the building, Caleb asked if I wanted to go up to the roof, like old times. Caleb took me up to the rooftop on one of our first dates and had said that this is where he was ‘going to propose one day’ and I was thinking he would say anything to woo me.

So up to the rooftop we went (which is not meant for public access). As Caleb opened the door, it started raining. We had to climb up ladders and duck under poles. Once we had done all of the climbing, we stood overlooking an uninterrupted view of Darling Harbour and Caleb dropped to one knee. In the pouring rain, I said ‘yes’, without a doubt in my mind!

Kate and Caleb are completely enamored with their wedding photos thanks to Jason Corroto. Says Kate of their photographer, “I cannot speak highly enough. He was the very first vendor I locked in for the wedding aside from the venue. Jason is a friend of Caleb’s and mine; I almost changed the date of the wedding when he was unsure if he was available.
He is so amazing at capturing those small, special moments while being so discreet. I felt so comfortable and the photos look so incredibly stunning!”

Hooray Feature - A TIMELESS TROPICAL-LUXE WEDDING

James & Lui's Wedding - Kangaroo Valley

The couple decided they would use James’ parent’s property in Kangaroo Valley as the wedding venue, with a tropical-luxe, floral theme – a steer away from the predictable rustic theme that would normally be associated with a farm-like setting. Lui used the surrounding landscape to set the tone for the wedding, with a colour palette of white and green, working alongside natural wooden textures.
What more can I say about this epic celebration! I hope you enjoy Lui and James’ tropical-luxe wedding as much as I did!

“It was pretty much a summer fling that turned into a forever thing”, says Amy who married her (now) husband and best friend Jason (or Jase as he’s affectionately known) at Moby Dicks Whale Beach – one of Sydney’s most popular waterfront wedding venues.
It was a celebration full of laughter, love and happy tears (topped off with plenty of drinks and dancing) which, if you read on, will know that’s exactly what this pair wanted.
