Theordore Feature :: Kenny & Mason's Love Story

Kenny and Mason’s is the sweetest of love stories that actually began long before the ‘first date’. Kenny was Mason's best-friends older brother, so the two had known each other for quite some time before exploring their romantic feelings for each other. As Kenny says, “I didn't realise he was into me or even into men until he cornered me at a pub one night and confessed that he had feelings for me.”

And that's how it all began for Kenny and Mason.

Hello May Feature :: Jes & Charlie Sydney Wedding

Jes and Charlie had to change their original wedding date, but it’s super refreshing to hear it wasn’t old mate COVID that forced their hand, but something far more exciting. “We were looking at having the wedding late 2022. Then in early November, we were excited to find out I was pregnant, due July 2022! We made the decision in early December 2021 that the wedding date would be brought forward to February 12, 2022 – we had a lot to start planning with only 2.5 months to go!”

Together Journal Feature :: Oli & Soph DIY Wedding

“Literally, nothing beats our wedding day! As cliche as it sounds, it was the best day of our lives!!!!

We wanted to enhance and capture the true beauty of the property, so didn’t want too many decorations. We kept the styling quite minimal with lots of DIY pieces like the tables, jars and our bar set up.
We also created another bar using a claw foot bath filled with serve-yourself drinks. Then our florist intertwined a unique design into 2 Crepe Myrtle tree’s for our arbour and it looked so beautiful. We styled the area with a natural timber look using wooden seating and wine barrels along with rugs, candles and fairy lights to create a truly modern Australian fairytale festival and it sure paid off.”

WEDSHED FEATURE: Claire & Nick - Pilu

A pandemic was no match for these two, who despite all the curveballs thrown their way (including their honeymoon accommodation burning down… yep), pulled off a very special and intimate day at Sydney beachfront wedding venue Pilu at Freshwater.

True to their own personal style, they kept things simple and elegant with their main focus being on good food (something Pilu is famous for) and Italian cocktails as a nod to their engagement in Positano.

They also relied on their close friends, photographer Jason Corroto and celebrant Tamara Louis, to put them in touch with some of Sydney’s best wedding vendors including Tillee Music who went above and beyond to create a day that Claire describes as “the most enjoyable experience”.

Together Journal Feature :: Alex & Phil - Pilu

Originally we had planned to wed on the cliffs in Uluwatu (Bali) in 2020, but one month out from our big day the world shut down and we were thrown into the unknown. A year later we still weren’t sure if we would get married and had many conversations around “should we/shouldn’t we” when my best friend Courtney (one of our bridesmaids who’d been stuck in London for over a year) managed to get on a flight home to Sydney to visit her mum. After dropping Courtney a care package full of necessities (Marie Clair, Cadbury, Pringle’s, Wine, etc.) to the Sheraton Grand on Hyde Park I had a “now or never” moment and drove straight home to tell Phil. The very next day we booked a wedding venue for four weeks’ time.

WEDSHED FEATURE: Jaimi-Lee + Dan

Jaimi-Lee and Daniel’s intimate NSW wedding at Summergrove Estate didn’t happen overnight. It was years in the making, with their original plans being hijaked by Covid. Luckily, Ellie from Summergrove Estate had their backs and as Jaimi-Lee explains, “from day one to year three she put up with us, Covid or not. She knew our vision for the day and she did everything in her power to make sure everything went as planned.”

In the end, their 34 person wedding was a dream. “We ate good food, drank unreal margaritas and laughed and cried ‘til the very end. It was magic.”

Marriage is not a two-dimensional romantic whirlwind. It’s a frank acknowledgment that generally things are awesome, sometimes they can be really tough, and whatever happens, you will have each others’ back. Neither of you are perfect- there’s no point in pretending otherwise.

Together Journal :: High School Sweetheart’s Danni & Neil

The rain couldn’t dampen Danni & Neil’s parade! High School sweethearts, best friends and lovers!!
This wedding at Three Blue Duck’s had it all from epic styling, good food and Blink 182 tunes to start the dance floor!
”We didn’t really start planning the wedding with a theme in mind other than it needed to match our personalities and our story and have great food, wine and music. A reception venue with the white walls/table cloth look wasn’t we had in mind and we knew we wanted something a little more industrial. “

Holly & Brad’s Stylish DIY Wedding on the South Coast :: Nouba Feature

After a decade spent exploring the world and building a life together, Holly and Brad celebrated their 10th year as a couple by tying the knot surrounded by their loved ones. Sydney based lensman, Jason Corroto, captured the couple’s gorgeous wedding amongst the tranquil woodlands of Bawley Point on the NSW coast

There was no question that Bawley Point would be the perfect place for their relaxed and intimate wedding. Not only does the South Coast spot happen to be where Brad popped the question, but Holly’s parents had just finished building their home there. The bride shared “It was awesome for everyone to experience where we love to holiday, and see why we love it so much.”.

Polka Dot Bride :: CRYSTAL & DON’S TROPICAL BLACK TIE BALI WEDDING

Everyone is a big fan of a holiday and everyone’s a fan of dressing up in their finest gear, so when Crystal and Don combined the two in beautiful Bali, it was a celebration that was pure and utter destination wedding magic. The bride, in the dreamiest of gowns (can we talk about the sleeves?) the groom in what has to be one of my favourite suits (pink linen!) beautiful, endless blooms and a reception under the stars. Combine it all with beautiful imagery by photographer Jason Corroto and we’re well and truly ready to kick off our shoes, grab a cocktail and join in the fun!

The pair met in their twenties through mutual friends at a club – it was adoration at first sight for the bride to be, who tells us their romantic proposal story. “Don proposed while we were on holiday in Bali in 2017. It was completely unexpected and was such a nice little surprise, he did it while we were biking around the town of Ubud. It is also partly the reason we decided to have our wedding there.”
